Pemberdayaan Kader Remaja Dalam Pencegahan HIV

ABSTRAK

 

Kasus Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) di Indonesia masih meningkat di tahun 2023. Partisipasi masyarakat merupakan aspek yang potensial untuk menunjang penanggulangan HIV/AIDS. Penting adanya kegiatan untuk meningkatkan, memperbaiki dan partisipasi kesadaran masyarakat dalam pencegahan HIV. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan di RW 08 Kelurahan Ciwalen Kabupaten Garut dengan metode pemberdayaan remaja “GEMA RW PEDULI HIV melalui rangkaian kegiatan pembentukan kader remaja, pendidikan kesehatan tentang HIV/AIDS pada remaja, pembuatan dan pemasangan media edukasi. Hasil kegiatan diantaranya terbentuknya kader remaja, terbentuknya akun media edukasi dan komunikasi HIV, terpasangnya spanduk edukasi HIV di 2 titik lokasi dan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan remaja dengan rata-rata nilai sebesar 67 sebelum pendidikan kesehatan dan setelah dilakukan pendidikan kesehatan meningkat menjadi 90 point. Kegiatan pemberdayaan remaja dapat menjadi salah satu strategi pencegahan dan pengendalian HIV. Diharapkan keberlanjutan program kegiatan dimasa yang akan datang melalui sinergitas program layanan kesehatan dengan melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat.

ABSTRACT

 

Cases of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in Indonesia are still increasing in 2023. Community participation is a potential aspect to support HIV/AIDS control. It is important to have activities to increase, improve, and participate in public awareness in HIV prevention. This community service activity was carried out in RW 08 Ciwalen neighborhood, Garut Regency, with the youth empowerment method "GEMA RW PEDULI HIV through a series of activities to form adolescent cadres, health education about HIV/AIDS in adolescents, and the manufacture and installation of educational media. The results of the activities included the formation of adolescent cadres, the formation of HIV education and communication media accounts, the installation of HIV education banners at 2 location points, and an increase in adolescent knowledge with an average score of 67 before health education and after health education increased to 90 points. Adolescent empowerment activities can be one of the strategies for HIV prevention and control. It is hoped that the sustainability of the program of activities in the future will be through the synergy of health service programs by involving community participation.
