Webinar Konsep Perawatan Paliatif Kepada Mahasiswa Keperawatan Di Indonesia

ABSTRAK

 

Asuhan perawatan paliatif merupakan asuhan keperawatan yang diberikan pada pasien yang membutuhkan asuhan paliatif dengan tujuan meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien dan keluarganya. Semakin meningkatnya kejadian penyakit kronis dan mengancam jiwa, membuat kebutuhan akan asuhan paliatif meningkat. Saat ini masih banyak institusi keperawatan yang belum memiliki mata kuliah perawatan paliatif baik dalam akademik maupun jenjang profesi. Oleh karena itu, webinar pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk menjawab permasalahan yang ada. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada mahasiswa keperawatan tentang perawatan paliatif sekaligus mempersiapkan mereka dalam menghadapi pasien yang membutuhkan asuhan paliatif dimasa mendatang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diberikan dengan metode ceramah menggunakan power point melalui ruang zoom secara daring kepada mahasiswa keperawatan diIndonesia. Sebanyak 202 mahasiswa keperawatan dari berbagai provinsi mengikuti webinar ini. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan dengan peningkatan rata-rata skor pre-test ke post-test sebesar 44.48. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terbukti bermanfaat dalam peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa keperawatan di Indonesia.

ABSTRACT

 

Palliative care is nursing care provided to patients who need palliative care aimed to improve the quality of life of the patients and their families. The increasing incidence of chronic and life-threatening diseases lead to the increasing need of palliative care. However, there are still many nursing institutions that do not have palliative care courses yet in both academic and professional levels. Therefore, this community service webinar was conducted to answer these existing problems. The purpose of this community service was to provide information for nursing students about palliative care and to equip them for dealing with patients who need palliative care in the future. This community service activity was an online event using Zoom Meeting for nursing students in Indonesia. A total of 202 nursing students from various provinces participated in this webinar. This event was evaluated by pre-post quiz of palliative care knowledge. The results of the evaluation revealed that the students’ knowledge have increased (Mean 44.48). It is noted that this community service activity has proved to be essential event to provide more information regarding palliative care for nursing students.
